Chris has recently has ventured into the world of graphic novels, beginning with an adaptation of his first play, The Life and Soul. In 2024 he presented at the Annual Graphic Medicine Conference in Ireland for an international audience on translating the magic of theatre to the magic of the page.
The Life & Soul
Chris is working on a graphic novel adaptation of his stageplay The Life and Soul, working with illustrator Tony Pickering. Exploring mental health, masculinity and human connection this adaptation will create a lasting iteration of the story that can be used to target demographics not reached by the stage adaptation. The creation of a permanent, physical manifestation of the story will create a resource people can return to. It can be there for them at all times – giving a voice to their feelings and providing tools to help improve their own mental health.
